Writing.
I've always written. Always. From the moment I learned to write, I wrote. And wrote.
And then I wrote some more.
I started out writing fiction. For a while I wanted to be a journalist, and I had the pleasure
of working with some of Australia's best journalists during a long career behind the scenes
(camera and sound mostly) in news and current affairs. I did in fact work for a short time as
a journalist for some radio stations in the USA, but it was not meant to last.
For far too many years I wrote countless corporate videos, and it seemed like the muse
abandoned me. Don't blame her really.
Nevertheless, I kept up the writing. I optioned a book ("Innocents" by Cathy Coote) and
wrote a first draft screenplay for it. Alas, there seemed to be no interest in it, so that one
lapsed. I then wrote an original screenplay, "Good behaviour", to first draft stage. It needs
a lot of work yet, but if anyone is interested in following this one up, please let me know.
In early 2009 I began writing for the theatre, and this is where I have had by far the most
success so far. Each of the plays in these pages has found it's way to the stage at some point.
In these pages you can read a little about each play and its stage history. There are
also links to www.productionscripts.com where you can view a sample of each script, and
purchase it for performance.
If you purchase and perform one of my scripts, please let me know so I can add the details
to that play's page.
A friend and I are currently working on a major, but secret, project.
